After an incredibly long absence I have returned to Deviantart, bringing new deviations with me!

I have moved back towards traditional media over the last few months, mainly coloured pencil work with a dash of acrylic painting (although I need a large scanner to post up the acrylic work).

Thanks for visiting!

Hi all!

Sorry for the lack of updates, what with planning, sorting out and going on our holiday earlier in the year (Florida including Wizarding World of Harry Potter!) and having our house on the market since, I've struggled for the art-time I crave.

:bulletblue:ART PROJECTS - CURRENTLY

I'm currently working on a relatively large digital commission which I hope to finish within the next four weeks (will post a copy on here for you guys to see). After this I plan on drawing a small Snow Leopard digital piece for Christmas.

:bulletblue:ART PROJECTS - UPCOMING

Since we are in the process of moving, unfortunately all my traditional art stuff is in storage :cries: I'm hoping we can get this place sold soon so that we can buy a new place and mosey on in all our stuff (hopefully one room can be devoted to a study and art room!). Once we are moved (fingers crossed by start of the new year or March), I plan on doing something a bit different.

I want to make my own Gessoboard (can't buy the stuff easily over here), will be asking for an airbrush kit for Christmas, and plan to start working on giant acrylic animal realism pieces! Starting with a tiger *rawr*; size probably around 24 x 24 inches (or slightly larger). I plan to use the airbrush for laying down the base colours (along with creating faded-out backgrounds, which will take some practice) and then going back over the piece meticulously with a little brush adding all the individual hairs. Wish me luck!

:bulletblue:HARRY POTTER! :wizardhat:

Wizarding World of Harry Potter was excellent! It's based in Universal's Islands of Adventures. Unfortunately, due to them changing the opening date, we arrived there just days after it had opened! May sound ideal, and it was great to think we were one of the first, but the queues! We had to queue for an hour and a half just to get into the area! Then an hour and a half for the main ride, two hours for the Ollivanders shop experience :faint: but we left with some great merchandise; two wands (one Ollivanders, one Lupin), a Pygmy Puff t-shirt (disappointed they had sold out of pygmy puffs), Marauders map in a case and Every Flavour Beans.

The theming and rides were excellent (well, two were just remakes but I always enjoyed those rides). We'll hopefully be going back in two years time when things should be much quieter! I have photos up on Facebook.

Jay was in the middle of reading the books when we went there and finished them a month or so ago. I gave in and started reading them. Whilst they started off more childlike yet fun, I am getting more addicted as I get through the series! I'm now half way through Half Blood Prince. Amazing the differences between the books and the film as you get further into the series. Not sure why they focused so much on made-up romantic scenes in the film, when the book focuses more on the nitty gritty of Tom Riddle's past!

Very excited about seeing Deathly Hallows Part 1! I will have finished reading the final book by then, so hope they do it justice, but the trailers look amazing!

Price Drops

3 min read

I have dropped all my commission prices quite significantly for the timebeing, given it being a recession and all :) I have also added the option of Watercolour painting commissions. Gift Vouchers are another new addition.

For full commission details, Click Here

I hope to add another watercolour painting or two soon (fast becoming my favourite medium), although I'm currently starting work on a new digital commission.

Take care all :)

Goals for 2010

:bulletgreen: Otter Project - my next main project so it taking a great deal of time (and attempts at being motivated!). Many hours spent so far, yet only a few rocks completed! Becoming very bored of rocks :3

:bulletgreen: Wolf Project - at some time after completing the otter project (or during if the otters, or specifically constant rocks in the background, annoy me!), I want to create a wolf pack project, so will take an equally great amount of time! It will likely be my favourite, though, given my love of wolves.

:bulletgreen: Avatar - I will soon likely draw something different from my usual pieces - Neytiri from Avatar. Just to take a break from fur :3

:bulletgreen: Traditional - practice and draw more traditional pieces, mainly watercolour, to increase my traditional skill and get a break from staring at the computer!

Art

I've added a few more pictures:

- a digital drawing of a bulldog named Frank
- a pencil sketch of a tiger
- a prismacolor sketch of a native styled wolf

I'm now working on a couple of projects:

- updating an older picture (the arctic fox) to include cubs and an updated background
- drawing more Chinese inspired ink drawings. I'm actually painting several onto Chinese silk scrolls which will then be available to buy on my website.

Website
The website is now complete with pricelist and commissioning information. A new section (or additions to other sections) will be made in the form of adding Chinese-style ink drawings and scrolls to buy and view.

Gaming
I'm really into Everquest II now. My boyfriend's been playing it for several years and I finally took the plunge and love it! Let me know if any of you play.

I have two characters at the moment -a Lv50 Warden (Lv31 Jeweller) and a Lv6 Conjurer.
My Warden is a High Elf named Skyefall, although she's permanently in werewolf form. She has a fluff pet, Grassalagor (love him), and will soon have a Friend of Growth (finishing the Tunare quest). Her SOW brings her up to over 45% run speed so she doesn't have a mount.
My Conjurer is a Wood Elf named Twilite. She has a mount from my boyfriend buying the Shadow Odyssey expansion pack for my birthday that grows up with her, and currently has a pet rock!
